The first time I tried to use the pinhole camera I didnt get any photo the whole paper was just black.

After the first one didnt work I checked over the camera to make sure eveything was still in lace then changed the timing and took this photo and i got a real picture.

After getting my picture I had to make it from my negative to my positive but to do that I needed to do a test stip like this one to find out what amount of time my photo needed to create the best and clearest positive image.

After descovering that my picture needed to process in the light for 20 seconds I finally made my true positive image.

Pinhole Camera Project

  • That you can take photos with just some paper a box and sunlight.

  • Sometimes not eveyrhing works out but you just have to try again.

  • There are diffrent shutter speeds to let in different amounts of light in order to get the best photo.

  • Different camera angles show different things.

  • Its a long process but in the end you come out with a pretty cool photo.

  • To change your photo to the positive yiu also need to find out hoe long the light should be on it to create the clearent image.

  • You also need to know about appature and that is the size of the hole the light is shinging through.

Things I Learned In This Unit...

  • The first cameras were used for drawing not taking photos

  • The first camera was called "camera obscura" which means dark room in Latin. it works the same as a pin hole camera but larger.

  • Durring the late 18th century the middle class wante cheep portraits and all the artist needed was a shadow.

  • Sometimes they had to use longer exposure times and people had to sit for long periods of time so they closed their eyes then the artist would paint them on after.

  • They had a metal headrest to keep the peoples head still so the image wouldnt be runined.
